a pile of good things & bad things

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad, but vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant.

You probably didn’t notice, but I stopped posting on here about four months ago.

I don’t particularly know why, but I did.

I’m here now to say that I’m starting over with a new tumblr, leaving this one as a record of my late teenage years because damn if looking at my old posts doesn’t make me nostalgic.

You can now find me posting at nicolekjarvis.tumblr.com

There will be less (weird) fandom, more links to my blog and articles, and more of a style of blog that I can show to potential employers who want “social-media savvy” interns.

The humor’s still there, though. Don’t you worry about that.

I followed a bunch of people already from it so if you care enough about my tumblr-based perspective on life, scoot on over to

nicolekjarvis.tumblr.com

and follow me.

Also message me (from that tumblr) blogs you recommend I follow. I’m open to pretty much anything.

Thanks and I love everybody.

The FLIP Research Vessel Can Tilt 90 Degrees in the Water

I toured this ship with NOSB and it is so cool inside! Everything is on a swivel and there was a shower on the wall.
It was basically really sick

If anyone in California is interested in adopting a dog or a cat, Kerns County Animal Shelter ( one of the most disgraceful shelters in California ) is being shut down. Dogs are being sold for 15$ and cats for 5$ ( all are fixed with shots. )

Every animal will be put down by September 30th.

My daughter wanted to dress up her hamster in dolly clothes, I told her that wasn’t really going to work…but if we cut holes in a box and make some of those seaside type pictures you stick your head through, only hamster sized, perhaps we could make him look like he dressed up!

Detail view an oaken casket lid containing a preserved Norse giant’s heart. (5th century)
The inscription on the casket is written in old Norse runes and reads…“Behold! Within this casket lies the heart of the fierce and terrible giant known as Hrungnir, slain this day by Fafrd the Red whose bravery and cunning shall live forever!”
